Welcome to Vū! Vū is a recommendation and social networking service that delivers personalized content and recommendations based on your preferences and activity on participating web sites, applications and mobile devices, as well as social networking site(s) such (e.g., Facebook®, Twitter®, Google+® and LinkedIn®) (the "Services").

Scope

Vū, and the website www.myvu.com ("Site"), is owned and operated by Vu Digital, LLC ("Vū," "we," "us," "our"). This privacy statement describes how the information you provide us is used and collected, as well as the choices available to you regarding use of your personal information.

This Privacy Policy applies to access to and use of the Vū Services (whether via web-based, mobile application, SMS, email, and/or any other version we may have in the future) and Site. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, social networks or applications in which the Vū product may appear, which are governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy statement of any website you visit, or application you access. This Vū Privacy Policy also does not apply to actions not taken by Vū users, nor does it modify any existing written or online agreements, policies or guidelines you may have as a customer or user of the services of Vu Digital, LLC. For the avoidance of doubt, Vu Digital, LLC will not combine information collected from users or customers of our other lines of business, with information collected from users of Vū. By visiting, using, accessing or registering for Vū, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Collection and Use Of Information

We may collect the following personal information from you:

Personally identifiable information. Personally Identifiable Information is information that could be used to determine your identity (e.g., your name or email address). When you register for Vū, you will create a login in which we ask for your email address and password, or you may do so by signing on through a third-party service, as described below. Your username for a third-party service account may also be considered personally identifiable information. You may also provide contact information such as your mailing address or phone number.

We also collect the following information from you:

Information you provide by virtue of your use of Vū. When you are logged in to the Vū product, we automatically collect general log data information, like your IP address, your interactions with Vū and with third-party sites with the Vū product, and your geographic region. We also may collect demographic information such as age, education, gender, and zip code. You will also provide information to us regarding topics of interest to you by simply clicking on the content that interests you on Vū. The more you use the Vū product, the more we learn about your preferences and the type of content you like to see.

Information you choose to provide Vū. You may also choose to complete your Vū profile and provide us additional information from time to time regarding your interests and preferences.

Information from third-party services you link to Vū. You may choose to register for Vū by signing on through a third party service such as Facebook®, Twitter®, LinkedIn® and/or Google+®. You may also choose to connect your Vū online profile to one or more these third party services. By connecting to Vū with a third-party service, you give us permission to authenticate your identity, access and use your information from that service to the extent permitted by that service, and to store your log-in credentials for that service. These services may give you the option to post information about your use of Vū to your profile page to share with others within your network.

Location Data. If you have enabled the location data detector on your mobile device, we may collect location information from your mobile device so we may tailor the Services provided to your location, if applicable. This information is encrypted in a secure format during transmission. You can disable the sharing of your location data by turning this feature off on your mobile device.

Developers. If you are a Vū Developer, we may collect information about your business such as domain name of your website, RSS feed location(s), company name, company size and business type.

Children

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and prohibit children under 13 from registering for Vū absent parental or guardian consent. If we learn that we have collected private information from a child under the age of 13, we will delete such information. If you believe your child has created an account in violation of this policy, please contact us via one of the methods listed in this Policy and we will assist you.

User Access and Choice

Because Vū personalizes your experiences by your preferences and activity, collection of the information discussed above is integral in providing the services. Therefore, if you do not wish for us to collect or share the information discussed above, you should not access, download or use Vū. If you have already downloaded Vū and would prefer that we not share your information in the ways described in this Policy, you can request the deletion of your Vū account by contacting us here: support@myvu.com. We will process such requests in a timely manner.

If your personal information changes, you may correct, update, or amend it by making the change on your member information page or by contacting us via one of the methods listed in this Policy.

If you no longer wish to receive emails from us, you may opt out of them by following the unsubscribe features available on emails you receive. If you have received advertisements from our advertising partners or vendors and wish for them to no longer use your information in this way, please contact them directly to opt out.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Absent the request and opt-out mechanisms discussed above, you understand that by accessing, downloading or otherwise using Vū, you consent to the collection, use and sharing of your personal information in the manner described above.

Cookies/Tracking

We, and third parties with which we partner, use cookies and other technologies to help us with maintaining our Site, our advertising and our Services.

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user's computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies on this Site and on websites that utilize the Vū product. Cookies make it easier for you to navigate our Site and enable us to enhance the experience on the websites of our partners. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our Site or while on our partners' websites.

You can remove cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser's "help" file. If you reject cookies, you may still use our Site or the websites of our partners, but your ability to use some areas may be limited.

As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

We use this information to analyze trends, to administer the Site, to track users' movements around the Site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

Our third party partners employ cookies, clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), images, and scripts that help us better manage content on our Site. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. The use of cookies and other technologies by our partners, affiliates, tracking utility company and service providers is not covered by this privacy policy. We do not have access or control over the technologies of our third party partners. The information collected by the technologies of our third party partners is not tied to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our Site or while on the websites of our partners.

Behavioral Targeting / Re-Targeting

While visiting our Site and using the Vū product, information is collected about your activities through cookies and other technologies. These technologies may be used by us or our third party advertising partners to display advertisements to you that may be relevant to your interests. If you wish to not have the information these technologies collect, as described above, used for the purpose of serving you targeted ads, you may opt-out by clicking here. Please note this does not opt you out of being served advertising. You will continue to receive generic ads.

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Changes to Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time, including if we adjust our business practices or if legal or regulatory events require changes. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted and will be effective upon posting. If we determine to adjust the way we use and disclose personal information in a way that is materially different than our practices at the time the personal information was collected, we will first provide you with notice of the proposed changes and obtain your consent. Please refer back to this policy from time to time to ensure you are aware of our most current privacy practices.

TRUSTe Privacy Seal

We have been awarded TRUSTe's Privacy Seal signifying that this privacy policy and practices have been reviewed by TRUSTe for compliance with TRUSTe's program requirements including transparency, accountability and choice regarding the collection and use of your personal information. The TRUSTe program covers only information that is collected through this website and through the Vū product on third party desktop websites. The TRUSTe program does not cover information that may be collected from mobile devices at this time.
