Kenneth A. Kokinakis - CEO
Kenneth "Kip" Kokinakis is the CEO for Myvu Corporation. Kip is a 33 year veteran in technology. His career includes CEO and Senior management positions with companies in semiconductor manufacturing, distribution services and consumer products. Kip has significant global experience, operating companies in the US and several foreign countries. During his career Kip has focused on the development of start-up and emerging companies, successfully demonstrating the ability to grow companies from zero sales to substantial sales revenue.
Most recently he served as Chairman and CEO of Aura Communications, a pioneer in Magnetic Induction and Near Field Communications. Kip was responsible for re-positioning the company, productizing the technology and raising $12M in new capital funding.
Between 1996 and 2000, Kip was the CEO and president of Aureal Semiconductor, a leader in audio for the personal computer. Kip was hired to re-start Aureal's business, turning it around and growing annual revenues from zero to $45 million. He subsequently led the company's development of a new product family of PCI audio chips and sound cards, which resulted in numerous awards for product innovation and Aureal's position as a standard for audio in PC games. As CEO and Managing Director of Memec Asia-Pacific, a unit of a billion dollar European electronics components distributor, Kip built the Pan-Asia division, growing it to 125 people with sales of $150 million in five years. His leadership resulted in the first Pan-Asian electronics distribution operation for Memec with 13 offices in seven countries.
Additionally, Kip has held executive level positions with other market leaders, including Microchip Technology, Xilinx, National Semiconductor, and Silicon Systems.
Dr. Mark Spitzer - CTO
For more than twenty years, Mark Spitzer has thrived on the technical and business challenges that "experts" say cannot be done. He has led research groups in displays, photovoltaics, and semiconductor process development, many times finding success in the "impossible." Myvu Corporation, which Mark founded in 1995 under the MicroOptical name, is building advanced display eyewear to support a revolution in portable personal electronic devices. Prior to founding Myvu, Dr. Spitzer was principal scientist at Kopin Corporation where he was responsible for a number of development projects involving solar cells, light emitting diodes, and active matrix displays. He served as principal investigator reporting to the CEO on several multi-year DARPA-funded display technology development programs with funding of more than $20 million. Prior to joining Kopin, Mark was manager of Photovoltaics Research at Spire Corporation, where under contract to the U.S. DOE and NASA he led the successful development of a number of advanced solar cells. He has published more than 80 technical papers and holds 36 issued U.S. patents. Mark attended Boston University under a State of Connecticut Scholarship and a Boston University Trustee Scholarship, and graduated with distinction in physics. Mark earned a Ph.D. in physics at Brown University. Although he was trained formally in physics, Mark also studied electrical engineering, and was designated the Amperex Fellow in Electronic Research at Brown. Mark is a member of the American Physical Society, IEEE, Optical Society of America, and the Society for Information Display.
Mark Girolamo - CFO
A recent addition to the Myvu Corporation team, Mark Girolamo previously was the CFO & VP Operations at CardScan, Inc. makers of the industry leading Business Card Scanner. In this role he helped establish a world wide retail distribution network, and created a virtual infrastructure allowing the company to maximize profit and shareholder value. Mark sold the company to Newell/Rubbermaid in April 2006. Prior to CardScan Mark held positions as CFO & Vice-President Operations at various companies, from start-ups to over $400M in annual revenues.
Mark holds an MBA from Northeastern University, and an undergraduate degree from University of Massachusetts, and has over 20 years of executive level experience.
LK Wong - V.P. Asian Operations
LK Wong leads Asian Operations for Myvu Corporation and is responsible for new product development and managing the manufacturing, sourcing and assembly processes for all Myvu product lines. LK has over 25 years of experience in various fields including R&D, Program Management, Sales & Marketing and General Management. A significant portion of his past career has been with US based multi-national companies.
LK previously worked in the R&D arm of a defense organization in Singapore, as well as Conner Peripherals and Rockwell Semiconductors. While serving as Rockwell’s Country Manager for South Asia, LK helped to grow revenue to more than $100 million. He also was with Avnet in their Asia Headquarters in Singapore, running the semiconductor business unit. LK started this unit, and assisted in the growth of a 50 person staff with locations all over Asia. During this period, he had P & L responsibility for semiconductor sales of over $ 200M per annum.
LK has a degree in mechanical engineering from Singapore Polytechnic. In the course of his career he has continued his education taking courses in various technological & management fields.
Dan Cui - V.P. Sales
Dan Cui has over 25 years experience in sales and marketing. Much of his career has focused on introducing leading edge technology and products into new markets on a global basis. His strong technology background has allowed him to hold senior sales and marketing positions in e-commerce, semi-conductor, system, and electronic design automation (EDA) industries. Dan holds a bachelor degree in business from the University System of New Hampshire, an associate degree in avionic electronics and commercial Federal Communication Commission (FCC) Radiotelephone licenses.
